Hi Buddy, Thanks for coming and share your useful experience here. I really appreciate it: Only vibration on incoming texts for me, no preview or soundm all other notifications work fine. All sounds enabled, driving mode off etc. Ive run out of options to fix this. Hi Tom Farmer, Thanks for coming. If you have enabled the message preview and the notification sound in the stock Messaging app settings, turned off driving mode and your phone was in the sound mode, but you still didn't get the notification sound and the preview, then you may have accidentally hidden the notifications for messaging app.
Try the following steps to fix your problem: On home screen, tap "Apps" to go to the apps menu. Find the Messages app icon. Tap and hold the Messages icon and then drag it to the App info icon located at the top of the screen. In the App info screen, make sure to check the box in the left side of the "Show notifications". Now, try sending yourself a text message and you should get the notification sound and the preview. Hi Bossman, Thanks for coming and share a useful tips here: Yes, you're right. If the notifications volume is set to minimum, it'll turn off all notifications sound including the notifications sound for incoming text or email messages.

Well, if you're also experiencing the same problem with him, then there are a few things that you should check on your phone to solve this problem. Here they are: Make sure you have ticked the Notification option under Messaging app settings. Make sure you have ticked the Email Notification option under your Email account settings. Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Access Clipboard in Android 4. By Rehan October 30, Copy and paste text is a feature that can be used in Samsung Galaxy S5. This feature will help you duplicating or moving copied text with ease from one app to another. Since all copied text will be saved to the clipboard, it makes you can not only paste a text that you have just copied, but also paste an older copied text by selecting the required one from the clipboard as long as the clipboard has not been cleared yet.
How to access the clipboard? Generally, there are two methods that can be used to access the clipboard: Method 1: I solved it by taking out the battery, leaving the phone for 10 minutes or so, re-inserting the battery and, when I switched the phone back on, the SMS tone was working. Rianna Mitra.
The only solution I've found that worked for me is factory reset, but that deletes all your files, so do a backup beforehand. Michelle, a forced stop of Hangouts or any app is only good until you reboot, which will auto-restart the app.
I recommend that you change the Settings in the Hangouts app to prevent your SMS texts from being redirected to Hangouts. I'm not a Pro, but it's what I experienced. Ok I was really annoyed when I never got any notification when someone texted me, I have a galaxy s4 and I read all of these comments and nothing worked I know nothing about phones, I had no choice but to tern on sms again grr. My phone just needed a update and after I updated my phone it worked again hahaha it was so easy you just have to wait until you need an update then it fixed mine hope it helps!!!!
All I did was turn up the volume and when the volume bar pops up you hit the settings icon and it will open a screen where you control the volume of your notifications!!!!!!

Unchecking SMS in Hangouts worked for me. Weird that Hangouts showed Notification on with sound, but still didn't make any sound when text came in.

Maybe it has to be up and running in the foreground before it will sound off. I am sorry if this is a year too late. I had the same problem. I just went into settings, from settings go to the my device tab then go to sound then scroll down to messages. When you click messages there should be a box that says notifications. It should be checked. If it isn't then this is your problem. Ron B. Strange, still no notifications in Chomp SMS!!!!! Finaly it seemed like i also had to check the phone configuration: Enabled this setting and all was OK again.

That's what did it for me. But sometimes turning the settings back and forth won't take unless the confused device is restarted at a crucial part in the process, so here is what I did which finally fixed it for me: Restart the phone 3. Restart the phone 5. You should still NOT receive the notification at this point, but by now you will have forced the phone to accept your own "notification off" setting I love reverse psychology 6.
Restart the phone 7. Restart the phone again I know, it's a pain in the keester, but it's all in the restarts 9. None of the other methods worked. Thank you for posting this. This is what did it. I tried other suggestions in this thread, but this one was it.
